With both Arsenal and Tottenham signing Brazilian forwards this summer, comparisons were always going to be made.
And former Premier League striker Tony Cascarino has doubts about Spursā Ā£60million deal Richarlison, with their north London rivals move for Gabriel Jesus hailed as better business.
Antonio Conteās side completed the signing of Richarlison from Everton earlier this week, with the forward penning a five-year contract with the club.
The deal is believed to be worth a total of Ā£60million āĀ an initial Ā£50mĀ with Ā£10m in add-ons.
But Cascarino is unsure about the move due to the lack of goals he scored last season, with Teemu Pukki scoring more for relegated Norwich last season that the Brazilian ace.
āRicharlison got ten Premier League goals last season in a team that was fighting relegation,ā Weekend Sports Breakfast host Cascarino said on talkSPORT.
āWell, theĀ team that finished at the bottom [Norwich], their top goalscorer [Pukki] got 11!Ā
āHow many penalties did Richarlison score? Three? Up until January, I think he got about three goals ā he had a bit of a run at the end of the season.Ā
āI thought Ā£60m was a massive price and Everton have done brilliantly well to get it. Ā
āI just see a player that goesĀ down too easily, he would upset a lot of Everton fans because he does go to ground and he does it very regularly in the game.Ā
āI donāt know if heās a good fit for Spurs. I might be wrong, I might be sitting at the end of the season eating humble pie saying that IĀ got it totally wrong.Ā
āBut I donāt see it with Richarlison, and I think thatās a huge fee.ā
On the other side of north London, Arsenal are set to announce the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Man City.
Richarlisonās national team colleague is understood to be signing for the Gunners in a Ā£45m deal.
And Cascarino insists that Jesus āticks more boxesā than the new Tottenham man, and is confident heāll score more goals than him next season.
āI think Gabriel JesusĀ ticks a lot more boxes and theyāve got him at a better price,ā Cascarino said.
āIf you asked me now, āWho will get the most goals?ā Iād say Gabriel Jesus will get more goals than Richarlison at Tottenham.Ā
He added: āIād say heās more versatile than Richarlison too. He has played left-wing, right-wing and centre-forward for Man City.Ā
āHe played the left side of the forward line brilliantly well, heās done a number of jobs for the team defensively, heās got an incredible work ethic.Ā
āEvery time I watch him, he plays like Richarlison did at the end of the season.
āI didnāt see RicharlisonĀ in the early part of the season chasing like he did at the end.āĀ
