Neil Warnock has said ‘good riddance’ to both Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba, with the veteran manager glad the ‘selfish’ pair have left the Premier League.
Lukaku has sealed a move back to Inter Milan from Chelsea after his failed return to Stamford Bridge, while Pogba is also set for Serie A in a free transfer to Juventus.
Belgian striker Lukaku only re-joined the Blues in a deal just shy of £100million last summer, but struggled for form back in the Premier League and has now signed for his former club on a season-long loan.
After a poor start to his time back in west London, the Belgian admitted he was ‘not happy’ at Chelsea and talked up a move back to Inter in January.
Meanwhile, Pogba has departed Man United for the second time in his career, and is now expected to re-join Juventus for nothing.
The French World Cup winner opened up on his decision to leave Old Trafford in a self-styled ‘Pogmentary’ that was recently released to much criticism as he heads for the exit door.
Warnock says both players are all about themselves, and managers Thomas Tuchel and Erik ten Hag and their respective Chelsea and Man United teams are ‘lucky’ they have gone.
“Good riddance, that’s what I say,” Warnock told talkSPORT Breakfast.
“Same as Pogba at Man United. I think both of them are all about ‘me, me, me’ and not the team or the club.
“They’re the type who score a goal, kiss the badge and then they’ve transferred next week.
“I don’t miss people like that. I didn’t think he did anything at Man United and I don’t think he’s done anything at Chelsea.
“Yes, Lukaku scored a couple of a good goals, but his teammates will be far better without him.
“The manager is quite lucky because he hasn’t got to worry about him. I think Tuchel will be quite pleased about it.”
