Leeds are closing in on Colombia international Luis Sinisterra after Feyenoord left the star out of their squad for their pre-season training camp in Austria.

It is understood the 23-year-old winger has been given permission to hold talks with the Elland Road club ahead of a move to the Premier League.

Sinisterra was in blistering form for Feyenoord last season netting an incredible 23 goals and registering 14 assists in all competitions.

According to Guardian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Leeds are closing in on the player, with a full agreement on personal terms already confirmed.

Leeds endured a dismal campaign last season, and managed to escape relegation by the skin of their teeth on the final day by beating Brentford.

The club face another daunting task of remaining in the English top flight in the upcoming campaign, unless they strengthen their side.

The Yorkshire outfit have already lost Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City in a £42million deal, and look set to lose Brazilian forward Raphinha, who continues to be linked with a move to Barcelona.

Former Feyenoord scout Steven Aptroot, who worked previously at Liverpool, and is now at Norwich City, spotted Sinisterra in 2018 playing for his hometown club Caldas.

The player did suffer a serious cruciate ligament injury in February 2020 and missed 10 months of action.

However after returning, he hit the ground running, and enjoyed a fine campaign last season, and could take his game to the next level should he move to the Premier League.

Sinisterra is expected to follow 22-year-old full-back Tyrell Malacia out of Feyenoord, with the latter set to join Manchester United.

According to Dutch publication De Telegraaf, Sinisterra expected to cost between £17.2million and £25.8m.

Everton are also keen on the player, after losing Richarlison to Tottenham in a £60m deal.

It seems Leeds will have to act fast if they are to get their man, who has made five appearances for his country since his debut in 2019.
